Attendance, Cancellation, and Rescheduling Policies

We understand that life happens. However, we do incur a cost with each request for course cancellation or rescheduling. Depending on the length of notice you give us, we may not be able to fill your spot.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your in-class course for any reason, the following policies apply:

Request to Cancel or Reschedule with 72+ Hours’ Notice

A request to cancel or reschedule the in-class course, received in writing at info@13firstaid.com with at least 72 hours’ notice, will be subject to a $25 Administrative Fee and processed as follows:

A request to reschedule a course will be subject to a $25 Administrative Fee, payable immediately. On receipt of payment of the fee, you will be registered in the class of your choice, subject to available space.

A request to cancel a registration will be processed using the original method of payment, less a $25 Administrative Fee. Please allow up to one week for the payment to be processed and refunded to your account.

Request to Cancel or Reschedule with Less than 72 Hours’ Notice

A request to cancel or reschedule the in-class course, received in writing at info@13firstaid.com with less than 72 hours’ notice, is considered a late request and will be processed as follows:

A late request to reschedule a course may be possible if we are able to fill your spot from our standby list (where applicable). If we can fill the spot, a $25 Administrative Fee will apply. On receipt of payment of the fee, you will be registered in the class of your choice, subject to available space.

If we are unable to fill your spot, this is considered a Cancellation and is subject to forfeiture of the full course fee.

A late request to cancel a registration will be subject to forfeiture of the full course fee.

No Show

Students who do not contact us in writing in advance of their scheduled class and who do not attend class will forfeit the full course fee.

Late Arrival

The WSIB mandates that every student must attend 100% of the course. If more than 5 minutes late for the start of class, or returning to break, you will be required to re-register and repay. By registering for class, you are guaranteeing that you will be able to attend the day or days of training for the duration of class.

Substitutions

Requests for substitutions may be permitted at our sole discretion. Please contact us in writing at info@13firstaid.com at least 72 hours prior to the start of class to inquire.

Blended Courses

Students enrolled in a blended course must complete the online component prior to attending the in-class session. Students who do not complete the online component will not be able to attend the in-class session and will forfeit the full course fee.

Please note that the online component is managed by the Red Cross. Students are responsible for ensuring they can access the online component prior to class, and for contacting the Red Cross directly for assistance with any technical issues. The Red Cross is available Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm by calling 1-877-356-3226. Their hours may change without notice.

Unfortunately, 13 First Aid is unable to troubleshoot any website access issues.

Course Upgrade

If you wish to upgrade your course, please contact us in writing at info@13firstaid.com as soon as possible. You will be invoiced for the difference in price and registered in the upgraded course on receipt of payment.

Course Cancellation by 13 First Aid

If we are unable to proceed with a scheduled class for any reason, you will be offered the option to be rescheduled in a class of your choosing, subject to available space, or to receive a full refund. Refunds will be processed using the original method of payment. Please allow up to one week for the payment to be processed and refunded to your account.

Certification

You will be required to attend 100% of the course and demonstrate the ability to perform the required skills in order to successfully complete the course.

Within 24 hours of successfully completing the in-class session, 13 First Aid will confirm your successful completion to the Red Cross. Certificates are issued electronically by the Red Cross to the email address you provided upon registration. If you have not received your online certificate within 48 hours of completing your in-class session, please contact the Red Cross directly between Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm by calling 1-877-356-3226.

Recertification

Recertification is subject to the requirements and policies of the Red Cross. Students wishing to recertify must provide an electronic copy of their current certification at least 72 hours prior to the recertification course to validate the certificate.
