FIRST RESPONDER COURSE

Comprehensive first aid and CPR skills for professional first responders or those training to become first responders.

This course teaches the patient assessment model, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemorrhage control, and care for a variety of acute and chronic conditions.

Recertification is available only for Red Cross certificate holders, when certificates are full certification (not recertification) and not expired.

Is this the right course for me?

The Red Cross First Responder course is intended for current and future professional responders.

Participants build an in-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology that helps enhance their ability to respond to trauma, as well as acute and chronic conditions. Participants will gain confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other skills in a team environment.

This course is intended for students and professionals in the fire service, workplace response team, sports-medicine professionals, lifeguards and the ski patrol.

Is there an online only course option?

No, all First Responder courses are 100% in person.

Avoid disappointment, and financial loss by registering into a course approved federally, and provincially.

Participants in our courses are certified through the Canada Red Cross.

When does the course occur?

This is a 40 hour course, hosted over two weekends.

Fridays – 6:00pm-10:00pm
Saturdays – 9:00am -5:30pm
Saturdays – 9:00am -5:30pm

My certificate is expired, am I eligible to recertify?

Recertification can save you time and money. In order to recertify though, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

You must be the holder of a First Responder and BLS certificate from the Red Cross on your recertification date
The certificate must not be expired
The certificate must be a full course, and not a recertification.
