The Canadian Red Cross BLS (Basic Life Support) + Oxygen Therapy + Airway Management course is designed for healthcare professionals, pre-hospital responders, and clinical staff who require advanced resuscitation skills in both facility and emergency settings. This includes paramedics, nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists, dental professionals, firefighters, care aides, and lifeguards.
This comprehensive course combines high-performance CPR training (formerly HCP), rapid assessment, and defibrillation skills, including the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), with Oxygen Therapy and Airway Management.
Participants will learn to recognize when and how to administer supplemental oxygen, as well as how to create and maintain a patent airway using appropriate airway adjuncts based on the patient’s condition.
This integrated training prepares you to respond confidently and effectively in a wide range of emergency situations.
BLS certification is valid for 1 year. BLS Recertification is available only for Red Cross certificate holders, and are not expired.
Oxygen Therapy certification is valid for 3 years. No recertification option is available for Oxygen Therapy.
Airway Management certification is valid for 3 years. No recertification option is available for Airway Management.

FAQs
Recertification can save you time and money. In order to recertify though, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:
- You must be the holder of a BLS certificate from the Red Cross on your recertification date
- The certificate must not be expired
- The certificate must be a full course, and not a recertification.
