BLS with STANDARD FIRST AID, CPR-C, AED

Students will learn to recognize and provide interventions for life-threatening emergencies as well as provide non-emergency treatments until medical aid arrives.  They will also learn to provide high performance CPR with a high performance team.

This course is available in as a blended course (part-online) or traditional (all in person).  Recertification is available for attendees who are Red Cross certificate holders, where it is a full certification (not a recertification) and not expired.

FAQs

The Red Cross Standard First Aid, CPR-C, and AED course is our most popular course.  It meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

The BLS course is required by most health care professionals and health care students.

First Aid and CPR/AED training courses are offered in two formats:

  • Traditional All In-Class – This training will be held strictly in-class with a Canadian Red Cross instructor. Students will learn theory and practice hands-on skills.
  • Online Blended – This training is divided into an online and in-class portion. The online session will contain the theory and knowledge portion of the course, requiring participants to complete quizzes, games and more. This session must be completed prior to the participant’s in-class date (the date they are registered for). Once students complete the online session, they will attend an in-class portion and practice hands-on skills with one of our highly trained Canadian Red Cross instructors.

No, all accredited First Aid and CPR courses are 100% in person.

Avoid disappointment, and financial loss by registering into a course approved federally, and provincially.

Participants in our courses are certified through the Canada Red Cross.

Recertification can save you time and money.  In order to recertify though, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • You must be the holder of a BLS certificate from the Red Cross on your recertification date
  • The certificate must not be expired
  • The certificate must be a full course, and not a recertification.

If you are not eligible to recertify, check out the recertification pages on our course list.

Our policy outlining attendance, cancelation, rescheduling and lateness is outlined here.

If you are registering into a blended Standard First Aid course, there will be about 8 hours of theory completed online before class.  You will not have immediate access to the online portion, but you can expect it within a few hours after registration.  Access to the online portion will be received via e-mail, from the Red Cross.

When you receive this email, you will be prompted to complete your account on MyRedCross. From there, you may access your training. If you have difficulty completing your profile or starting the online training, check out our How-To video guide.

If you do not receive an email from the Red Cross within 24 hours, please check your spam folder, and then contact 13 First Aid at info@13Firstaid.com
