EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDER RECERTIFICATION
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Recertification option is only available to participants with current recognized Emergency Medical Responder certification.
Participants will review and demonstrate all knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate patient assessments, interventions, and ongoing care, including the transportation of a patient to a healthcare facility. This course follows the National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) as defined by the Paramedic Association of Canada and is the first level of training recognized by the NOCP.
Successful participants will receive a Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder Recertification certificate recognizing their training. It is valid for 3 years.

FAQs
This course is only available to Emergency Medical Responders, looking to recertify their certificate.
In order to recertify, participants must:
- Hold a current recognized Emergency Medical Responder certificate as of the recertification date
- The certificate must not be expired
- The certificate must be a full course, and not a recertification.
EMRs work in all areas including rural and remote locations where they may provide the highest level of pre-hospital care. EMR training is often a prerequisite for employment in Fire, EMS or integrated Fire/EMS services throughout Canada.

Participants in our courses are certified through the Canadian Red Cross.
Unless otherwise noted, this is a 40-hour course, hosted over two weekends. Weekends may or may not be consecutive. Please see the “schedule” section when booking.

Recertification can save you time and money. In order to recertify though, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:
- You must hold a current recognized Emergency Medical Responder certificate on your recertification date
- The certificate must not be expired
- The certificate must be a full course, and not a recertification.
